Following the events of 9/11, I wanted to make something that would simply add some beauty to the world.

 

Based on baton forms traditionally used in some Cahuilla dance rituals, the eliptical form is harmonious and comforting.

 

I see this piece as a symbolic door; a passage into another existence.
